The Morgan Library & Museum
You’re invited to take a tour with an audio guide of J. Pierpont Morgan’s library. In 1902 American financier Pierpont Morgan chose architect Charles Follen McKim to design a library to house his growing collection of rare books and manuscripts. Adjacent to Morgan’s home, which stood on the corner of Madison Avenue and 36th Street, McKim created a majestic structure in a classical style based upon villas of the Italian Renaissance. Visit Mr. Morgan’s beautiful library, view the current exhibitions, and attend online lectures.
I Visit the Garden City Public Library
The Garden City Public Library’s Children’s Department has created a social storybook for children with autism, which features a wizard doll visiting the Library. The book was created and designed by the Library’s Children’s Department with funds from the federal Library Services & Technology Act, awarded to the New York State Library by the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
For younger readers, an abridged version of this title is also available. A hardcopy of the book is available in the Children’s Room office to check out or view at the Library.
