Teen Art, Snack & Chat on Zoom

Join us for a virtual meet-up, “Teen Art, Chat, and Snack,” on Tuesday, April 13, from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM. Bring your favorite snacks and gather up whatever art supplies you have at home. Then join us as we work on art together while chatting and snacking! This program is for Grades 6-12 only.

“Baby Start” Online

On Thursday, April 16, the Garden City Public Library will host “Baby Start,” which will be presented online by A Time for Kids! This special “Baby Start” is for infants ages birth – 17 months. This recorded session will include songs, fingerplays, and stories. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. “Baby Start” has been presented, recorded, and hosted by A Time for Kids. Running out of recipes to cook while socially distancing? Good news! On Tuesday, April 14 at 4:00 PM, Chef Rob will do an online demonstration of a new spin on Spaghetti Muffins, Chicken Piccata, Bakery Style Dinner Rolls, and Stuffed Zucchini with Walnuts, Herbs, and Panko. Each demo will include a downloadable PDF recipe.

Library Remains a Vital Community Resource During Pandemic

Though the library building is closed, the Garden City Public Library has been working to provide the community with information, education, and entertainment through its website, its Facebook pages, and Nassau’s Overdrive collection, the Nassau Digital Doorway. The Library’s digital resources are available 24/7 with a valid library card. New copies of eBooks and digital audiobooks are being added for adults, children, and young adults to the Nassau Digital Doorway daily. Checkouts have increased during this time of social distancing, so additional copies of popular titles will continue to be added. (more…)
