Though the library building is closed, the Garden City Public Library has been working to provide the community with information, education, and entertainment through its website, its Facebook pages, and Nassau’s Overdrive collection, the Nassau Digital Doorway. The Library’s digital resources are available 24/7 with a valid library card. New copies of eBooks and digital audiobooks are being added for adults, children, and young adults to the Nassau Digital Doorway daily. The Garden City Public Library, in conjunction with the Nassau Library System, is offering residents without an existing valid library card the opportunity to get a Digital Library Card to access ebooks, audiobooks, live tutoring, digital magazines, language courses, test prep, and more. Apply for digital access today at https://nassaulibrary.org/digital-card-application.
If you do have a valid library card, use that one, it works just fine online and there is no need to apply for another. There is also an option if you have a valid library card but do not know the barcode that the system will send the number to you. (more…)

The Garden City Public Library Tweens and Teens Department‘s annual chick incubation project began with the arrival of the eggs on Tuesday, February 25. The chicks hatched throughout the day on March 16 and March 17. Out of 12 eggs, 10 successfully hatched.

The FIRST LEGO League teams in Garden City, including the Garden City Public Library’s Sixth Grade team as well as the Garden City Middle School’s Seventh- and Eighth-Grade teams, and the Garden City Friends of STEAM received certificates of recognition from State Assemblyman Edward Ra during the third annual “Robo Expo.”
