Homebound Service

The Garden City Public Library offers free delivery of books to registered library cardholders who are homebound. The “Library to Your Door” program is a free, personalized, delivery service of library materials to patrons confined to their homes due to physical disability or illness. The Library will deliver and pick up items on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Patrons may borrow both regular and large-type books, fiction and non-fiction, up to 10 books at a time. Specific books can be requested by title, or a reference librarian can assist you in choosing books based on your preferences. No AV materials, new books, or best sellers may be borrowed. There are no overdue fines on materials loaned to the homebound. There is no cost for this service, but you must have a current Garden City Public Library card and be registered with the Library. For more information, please call Reference Librarian Laura Flanagan at 742-8405, ext. 239.
