The product of a partnership between ProQuest and MyFamily.com, Ancestry Library Edition encompasses 4,000 databases and 1.5 billion names. In addition to extensive coverage of U.S. and U.K. census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, there are records from Canada and other areas as well.
To accommodate our patrons while the Library is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the vendor has granted remote access to this service temporarily.
The New York State Archives has partnered with Ancestry.com to digitize New York State records of interest to genealogists. The resulting database is free to NY State residents and available in the library or remotely.
Do not click on the “Subscribe” button or the “14-day Free Trial Offer.” After you enter a search and click on a result, you will be prompted to “Create a Free Account” in order to view the record.
