Programs!*  During the school year, the majority of Young Adult programs are held on Saturday afternoons. Craft programs and workshops are particularly popular. Other programs held during the week are the "Babysitting Workshop" and the "College Financial Aid Workshop." Dates and times for these programs are announced in the Garden City News, the Garden City Life, the Library's Newsletter, Calendar of Events, and fliers found on the YA Librarian's Desk.

Young adults read, sing, and do finger plays and a simple craft with groups of children between the ages of 2 and 8.

To insure the quality of the storytimes and the comfort of the storytellers, volunteers are required to attend two training sessions prior to the first summer they participate. Anyone entering grades 6-12 in September 2010 is invited to join.

Registration begins March 15 for all sessions. Each program is limited to 20 in each session.

Finding Buck McHenry, by Alfred Slote

Could Mr. Henry, the custodian at Jason’s school, possibly have some connection with former baseball great Buck McHenry? Jason pressures an admission from Mr. Henry and talks him into coaching a newly formed team. This comic, suspenseful baseball story is both a book and a film.

Register and pick up the book beginning Saturday, March 13.
