Registration for Teens & Tots Volunteers Print Email
What's up for Young Adults

Registration began May 1 for volunteers for "Teens & Tots Storytimes." Every summer, the Young Adult Department, in conjunction with the Garden City Recreation Department, conducts storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons in the picnic area of the Garden City Pool. At these storytimes, young adults read, sing, and do finger plays and a simple craft with groups of children between the ages of two and eight.

Everyone entering grades 6-12 in September 2012 is invited to participate as a volunteer. To insure the quality of the storytimes and the comfort of the storytellers, volunteers must have attended two training sessions prior to the first summer that they participate. Training sessions have been held throughout the winter. Make-up sessions will be by appointment. For more information, contact Marge Kelly, YA librarian, at 742-8405, x242.
