Teens & Tots Storytime Training

E-mail Print

The Young Adult Department, in cooperation with the Garden City Recreation Department, conducts a storytime every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon in July and the first week of August in the picnic area of the Garden City Pool.

To be a volunteer in this program, you must attend a training session at the Library. Required training will be available for any young adult in 5th grade and up who wishes to participate in the storytime program for the first time this summer. You will learn the skills of book selection, read-aloud techniques, how to engage a young audience, and how to prepare and teach crafts safely.

Contact Young Adult Librarian Marge Kelly at 516-742-8405, ext. 242 to arrange to attend a training session. This program is a community service, and participants earn credit.
