Through the generosity of the Friends of the Garden City Public Library, the Library offers free passes to select museums and cultural institutions. You can make a reservation to borrow a Museum Pass from one of the member institutions in our Museum Pass Program.
Passes to the following institutions are available to be checked out from the Library:

- 9/11 Memorial & Museum, NYC (2 adults & 2 children);
- Cradle of Aviation Museum, Garden City (2 adults & 2 children);
- Empire Pass;
- Guggenheim Museum, NYC (2 adults & 2 children);
- The Intrepid Museum, NYC (6 visitors);
- Long Island Children’s Museum, Garden City (2 adults & 2 children);
- Lt. Michael P. Murphy Navy Seal Museum, West Sayville, NY (2 adults & 4 children);
- MoMA (the Museum of Modern Art), NYC (5 visitors);
- Nassau County Firefighters Museum, Garden City (4 visitors);
- Nassau County Museum of Art, Roslyn Harbor, NY (2 adults & 4 children);
- Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Old Bethpage; and
- Old Westbury Gardens, Old Westbury (2 adults & 2 children under 18 years old).
Each museum has new restrictions and requirements for entrance during the pandemic. Patrons are responsible for checking with the institution prior to making a reservation to borrow the pass from the Library and prior to visiting the institution. The Library Museum Pass rules remain in effect.
- Museum passes are available only to Garden City Public Library cardholders in good standing who have signed the Museum Pass User Agreement. Museum passes may be reserved in advance and must be checked out by an adult (18 years and older) family member.
- Reservations will be taken up to one month in advance of the desired date, subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be done in person at the Reference Desk or over the phone at 516-742-8405 x5236.
- Only one pass may be borrowed at a time.
- Only one pass per museum may be borrowed per household within a six-month period.
- The pass may be borrowed for three days and must be returned by one hour before the Library closes on the day the pass is due. The day the pass is picked up is considered the first day.
- The museum pass must be returned to the Reference Desk during Library operating hours.
- Late charges are $10.00 per day.
- Any user who loses a pass will be charged the replacement cost of that museum pass.
Patrons should call the museum directly for information on special hours of operation and other guidelines due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Each museum reserves the right to determine the rules and regulations governing the use of the museum pass.
