Bird in Hand, by Christina Baker Kline, is the selection for a book discussion, which will be moderated by Gloria Weinrich, on Wednesday, November 19 at 10:00 AM at the Garden City Public Library. The author of Orphan Train, Christina Baker Kline has written a novel is about four people, two marriages, and one lifelong friendship, but everything is about to change. While Alison blames herself for a devastating car accident, her estranged husband fantasizes about Alison's best friend, Claire dreams of a different life in spite of a successful career, and Ben envies Alison's seemingly idyllic marriage. Alternating through these four intertwined perspectives, Bird in Hand is a searing novel about friendship, love, marriage, loss, and the choices we make that irrevocably alter everything we believe to be true.
This book discussion, moderated by Mrs. Weinrich, will take place in the Library’s Small Meeting Room on the Lower Level. No registration is necessary. Copies of the book are available at the Reference Desk in the Library. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library.
