A father volunteers to help the Gizmo Guys perform a juggling trick during the 2015 Summer Kick-Off Show, held to celebrate the start of the summer reading program on June 24."Find us on Facebook" link to the Fan Page of the Garden City Public Library Children's RoomThis year’s Summer Reading Club theme is “Every Hero Has a Story!” The Super Kids Read-to-Me Club is for children ages 2½-5 years old (not entering Kindergarten in Fall 2015) while the Power Readers Reading Club is for children entering Grades K-5 in September 2015. Special-needs children are welcome with an adult. As part of the Summer Reading Club, children can choose from a variety of activities that they can do either at home or at the Library in order to win prizes.

Registration for the Summer Reading Club began June 22 at 9:30 AM in the Children’s Room and is ongoing. Non-residents can register beginning Monday, July 6 at 9:30 AM. Check our website and Eventkeeper for more information about the Summer Reading Club and additional summer programming, or look for our flyers in the Children’s Room.
