The Garden City Public Library continues its tradition as a dynamic resource for our community with its dedicated staff and extensive services. You may not realize how much the Friends have steadily enhanced our library. Quality programs, new equipment, summer reading groups, informative exhibits and art displays, to mention a few . . . are all FREE to patrons of all ages.

We sincerely thank you for your generosity this past year. It has been a year filled with many sucesses. In addition to our ongoing activities, we have added diverse entertainment programs, some of which drew capacity crowds. Every contributor has made a difference.

With the closing of the Garden City Exchange, funding library activities through contributions and book sales is most important. Please support this fundraising appeal now and our daily and annual book sales throughout the year.

Please visit our continuous Book Sale Racks near the Circulation Desk in the Library for excellent bargains. Volunteers restock items twice weekly so that you may browse and buy. Each purchase you make helps us to reach our goals. The Friends always welcome quality donations of books, CDs, videos, DVDs, records, and tapes. Also, please join us at our Annual Book Sale in May for a wide selection of material sorted by our competent "Bookworms."

Eco-friendly, nonplastic, quality tote bags by the Friends are available at the Circulation Desk for $1.00.

Your financial support is needed to help us continue our work for your library. If you are new to the community, we welcome your membership and urge you to take advantage of all the library has to offer. Remember, your contribution is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please join your neighbors in giving generously today.

The Mission
of the
Friends of the Garden City Public Library, Inc.
is to provide financial support and other assistance to the Garden City Public Library; to promote knowledge of the services, resources and needs of the Library to the community; to confer with the Library Trustees on matters relating to the welfare of the Library; to encourage gifts to the Library; and to sponsor programs for adults, young adults, and children.
