Priority for registration and participation in programs funded by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library is given to children who are Garden City Public Library cardholders.

9:00 a.m. Registration begins for fall story times and book discussions.
Saturday, September 13  
9:00 a.m. Ticket distribution begins for "Parents for Megan’s Law: "Apple of my Eye I" lecture series for parents to be held on September 23.
3:30 p.m. Children’s Safety Movie. Funded by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library.
Tuesday, September 23  
7:30 p.m. Parents for Megan’s Law: "Apple of my Eye I" - parent education. Funded by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library.
Wednesday, September 24  
4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. "Chapter Chat" book discussion of Amelia Bedelia 4 Mayor, by Herman Parish for children presently enrolled in the Second Grade. Registration begins September 6.

4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. "New Friends in a Book" book discussion of The Littles and the Great Halloween Scare, by John Peterson, for children presently enrolled in the Third Grade. Registration begins September 6.

9:00 a.m. Registration begins for "Pumpkin Craft" on October 25.
1:00 p.m. "Bats!" with the Long Island Science Center. For Garden City residents in Grades K-2. Funded by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Registration begins October 11. Funded by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library.
2:30 p.m. "Bats!" with the Long Island Science Center. For Garden City residents in Grades 3-5. Funded by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Registration begins October 11. Funded by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library.

5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. "The Page Turners" book discussion of Tuck Everlasting, by Natalie Babbitt, for children presently enrolled in the Fifth Grade. Bring dinner, and a dessert and beverage will be served. Registration begins on September 6.
Wednesday, October 22  
4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

"Go Forth! Fourth Grade" book discussion of The Magic Finger, by Roald Dahl, for children presently enrolled in the Fourth Grade. Registration begins September 6.

9:00 a.m. Registration begins for "Read to a Dog" on November 1.

"New Friends in a Book" book discussion of Gooney Bird and the Room Mother, by Lois Lowry, for children presently enrolled in the Third Grade. Registration begins on September 6.

"The Page Turners" book discussion of The Last Holiday Concert, by Andrew Clements, for children presently enrolled in the Fifth Grade. Bring dinner, and a dessert and beverage will be served. Registration begins on September 6.
