As a convenience to its patrons, the Library has a 24 hour depository for books and media.  The depository is located on the exterior wall of the Library, facing the parking lot.  Patrons should pay careful attention to the following rules regarding use of the depository:

  • The depository is for the return of "on-time" materials.
  • Overdue materials must continue to be returned to the Circulation Desk.
  • Materials returned in the depository after the Library's closing on the date due will be subject to a one-day fine per item returned.  (See the Calendar of Events for the library's hours of operation.)
Anyone having questions about the depository should call the Library Director at 742-8405.

Audiovisual borrowers must be cardholders in good standing. New material is not available to out-of-district borrowers. Video borrowers must be at least 18 years old; however, those between the ages of 13 and 17 may also borrow videos with the signed approval of a parent or guardian. For those borrowers between 13 and 17 years of age, the Video Loan Policy Form must be signed by a parent or guardian in the presence of a Garden City Public Library staff member.
